APPOINTMENTS

We are not currently taking on any more clients for home visits (excludes Manea, Doddington, Wimblington, and Chatteris due to distance for clients to reach us) - if you would like to book in for an appointment with us in Wisbech, please book here.

For existing home visit clients, you will see a list on the booking link to advise when we are in your area. For new clients within the above area, please contact me.

Our address is: Pet Nurse Natasha, Pondworld Retail Park, Lynn Road, Wisbech, PE14 9DA.

From dogs needing to be sedated for a nail clip who just lay down and let us do it, to feral cats falling asleep whilst being dematted. I can't promise I can work magic on all animals, but I can try. Sometimes, a calmer approach within a calmer, quieter environment that isn't clinical or smelling of all the animals, is all that's needed.

We see many animals who haven't had their nails clipped for a long time because getting them through the doors of the vets or groomers can be a nightmare. And that's before anyone has looked in their direction. Our small pod is big enough for yourselves, as a one on one, no other animals. This in itself reduces a significant amount of stress for our pets. It can be seen as quite homely too - always a bonus! And there's the added bonus of treats too!

What my titles mean, and what they mean to you as a pet owner:

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN): you can be assured that I am qualified and registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. This is a requirement for anybody wanting to use the title Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). You are able to search for registered vets and nurses via the RCVS register.

Registered Animal Medicines Advisor (RAMA): A 'RAMA' is entitled to prescribe and/or supply the categories of product that fall within the scope of the qualification they have obtained and the registration they hold. The categories include: POM-VPS, NFA-VPS and AVM-GSL. Registered animal medicine advisor cannot prescribe or supply medications which are under the category of POM-V. You are able to search for registered animal medicines advisor via the VMD (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) register.

DEFRA approved microchip implanter: I have been assessed and approved by DEFRA that I can implant a microchip safely.

As a veterinary nurse, if I notice anything abnormal or unusual whilst seeing your pet/s, I will refer you back to your usual veterinary practice to discuss further with a veterinary surgeon. Due to this, the service booked may not be able to be carried out.

When I’m working independently (outside of a veterinary practice), my professional remit is limited by Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act. This means I am unable to work to my full capacity as a veterinary nurse when independent. There may be times that I require further information from your practice, as well as direction from your veterinary surgeon in regards to administering medications. Please read more here.

*** I cannot legally diagnose illness nor prescribe or dispense POM-V medication. This is an outpatient service, any medications will need to be clearly labelled with patient name and dosage. All medicines must be provided by the client’s vet. ***

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss anything, please feel free to contact me.
